TNG SWISS WATCHES JOINS TEAM AKZONOBEL IN THE VOLVO OCEAN RACE AS OFFICIAL TIMING PARTNER
As a passionate Dutch brand for nautical time pieces, we are more than excited to be the Official Timing Partner for team AkzoNobel in the Volvo Ocean Race, which is known to be one of the longest and toughest professional sporting events in the world.
TNG is proud to support the renowned Dutch skipper Simeon Tienpont and his crew in their goal to win the around the world Volvo Ocean Race 2017-18 for the Netherlands.
The 13th edition of the Volvo Ocean Race starts in October 22 in Alicante, Spain and will finally finish in The Hague, the Netherlands, by June 2018. From start to finish the teams will sail 45,000 nautical miles around the world, crossing four oceans, touching six continents and twelve landmark Host Cities.
The renowned Dutch sailor Simeon Tienpont is the skipper of team AkzoNobel and they will race Volvo 65 number eight, a brand new boat which has been decorated in the colors of their sponsor AkzoNobel – nr. 1 supplier of marine coatings worldwide.
Introducing: The team AkzoNobel Watch Collection
TNG Swiss Watches was asked to design an official team AkzoNobel Watch Collection to mark the participation of team AkzoNobel in the Volvo Ocean Race.
The Exclusive Limited Editions models of the team AkzoNobel Collection will be officially presented at the Christening of the team AkzoNobel boat on June 21th in The Hague. The collection contains three models; team Sports Gents, team Sports Lady and team Sailing Gents. These Dutch designed, Swiss made nautical sports watches are decorated with the official colors and symbols of team AkzoNobel in the Volvo Ocean Race. The team Sailing model will also be available in a Limited Simeon Edition, just 100 pieces which will be signed by the team’s skipper Simeon Tienpont, a double America’s Cup winner and two-time Volvo Ocean Race competitor.
